I am moving into my second + final year of school before graduating with a Masters in Mass Communication. My focus is in Public Relations.
When I started graduate school, I became an active member with ASU’s Public Relations Student Society of America. The student organization offered me the opportunity to connect with like-minded students who are dedicated to developing their skills in PR and strategic communications. During monthly meetings, I was inspired by the professionals who attended our speaking engagements and provided clear advice on how to succeed in this field.
I was recently selected to be ASU PRSSA‘s Director of Marketing for the upcoming 2018-2019 school year. I could not be more thrilled to serve a club which has encouraged me to excel in my professional career. You can learn more about the club on their Twitter page here.
During the Spring 2018 semester I was the Public Relations + Social Media Manager for CRONKITE RUNDOWN – a news shows produced by Cronkite graduate students which focused on local news, entertainment, and sports. The student organization was created this year by members of my grad cohort in order to gain additional hands-on experience in Cronkite’s state-of-the-art facilities. We’ve had so much fun working to produce, write, film, and edit our own show!
I am looking forward to expanding my professional experience as the PR Intern with Visit Phoenix starting this fall. I am a born-and-raised Phoenician and my love for the city runs strong. I have followed the company on social media for years and I can’t wait to contribute to their team!
When I’m not writing or practicing on my yoga mat, you’ll find me hiking the desert trails throughout the Valley. I also spend as much time as I can with my parent’s new addition to the family: a smart, silly, and soulful Golden-doodle named Maggie.
